cap·ti·va·tion

1. The state of being intensely interested (as by awe or terror)

2. A feeling of great liking for something wonderful and unusual

Captivation explores garments with both rigid and soft structures, inspired by gothic architecture and cathedrals.  It depicts the story of a woman lost in the beauty of her surroundings, blurring the lines between body and environment.  It targets sophisticated women who desire unique, flattering looks that elicit joy & confidence in their professional and social lives.  Captivation was presented in the University of Minnesota Senior Fashion Show in February of 2012.

To add an unexpected texture to each look, Lizzie designed intricate statement earrings made from walnut.  The cathedral-inspired earring designs complete her head-to-toe vision for the collection, produced on a wood lathe by Lizzie's brother, artist Joe Hillmann.
