2012 London Project

For my apprenticeship at the Zandra Rhodes design studio in London, I had the opportunity to design a garment that may be incorporated in the spring/summer 2013 runway show this fall. After the team selected one of my designs, I learned how to pattern this garment within the parameters of the print design, ultimately leaving behind four illustrated layup options of which the team may choose from. I patterned the design, made a series of test garments, received feedback from the team, developed options of how to lay out the pattern on the new print, and presented these options in professional computer illustrations.

I conducted trend research to develop original designs that align with the aesthetic of Zandra’s upcoming collection, focusing on the new print for the season.

I digitized the new print into illustrator to more efficiently show how the designs would look in a variety of lay plan options. Above, the print is shown in four colorways.
